It was claimed on Friday that the 33-year-old defender had attracted the interest of the Championship side as they look to make a return to the Premier League.
The veteran centre-back is now expected to sign a deal at Loftus Road in the coming days, according to the Irish Independent.
Dunne is currently a free agent after being released by Aston Villa at the end of last season.
