Sergio Ramos cool over Real Madrid extension

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos says that he is in no rush over extending his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Sergio Ramos has insisted that he is in no hurry to sign a contract extension at Real Madrid.

The Spain international, 28, is out of contract with the European champions in 2017 but last week signalled his intentions to prolong his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"We've had meetings to speak about the contract extension but I'm not in a hurry," he told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser. "I have two years left on my contract.

"This is something that doesn't bother me at all. It depends on the club, not on me. I have a good relationship with club president Florentino Perez and we often speak.

"Thanks to him I achieved a dream which was to join the best club in the world. I will be eternally thankful to him for that."

Ramos has helped the Blancos to six major trophies - three La Ligas, two Copa del Reys and one Champions League title - in his nine-and-a-half-year spell in the Spanish capital so far.
