ADO Den Haag held by 10-man Roda JC in Eredivisie clash

ADO Den Haag fail to secure a victory against 10-man Roda JC as the home side hold out to earn a point in their Eredivisie clash.

ADO Den Haag were unable to find a winner in their Eredivisie clash against 10-man Roda JC as they played out a 1-1 draw at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion this evening.

The home side took the lead in the 11th minute when Tom van Hyfte converted from close range after latching on to Edwin Gyasi's cross into the box.

Roda could have doubled their advantage as Mitchell Paulissen raided down the flank and lifted the ball into the penalty area, but Tomi Juric's header was comfortably saved.

Mike Havenaar came close to equalising for the visitors when he collected the ball on the edge of the box and curled an effort towards the top corner, but his strike went just wide of the post.

ADO did get their leveller just before half time when Giovanni Korte laid the ball into the path of Havenaar and this time his strike sailed past Benjamin van Leer into the net.

In the second half, the home side were reduced to 10 men when Juric was given a straight red card.

The visitors came within inches of taking the lead as Havenaar latched on to a through-ball and fired an effort past Van Leer, only to see his effort cleared off the line by a defender.

Hicham Faik could have handed the 10 men the advantage when he was teed up by Richmond Boakye, but he put his strike wide of the post when well placed in the box.

ADO pushed in the dying minutes in search of a winning goal, but the home side held out to earn a point which leaves them in 10th place in the table, while the visitors move up to 12th.
