Serge Aurier to miss PSG's clash against Arsenal after being refused entry to UK

Serge Aurier will miss Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League clash against Arsenal after being refused entry to the UK due to an ongoing court case.

Paris Saint-Germain have been dealt a blow ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League clash against Arsenal as right-back Serge Aurier has been denied entry to the UK.

British authorities have banned the 23-year-old from visiting the country due to an ongoing court case relating to assault allegations.

In September, Aurier was handed a two-month suspended prison sentence for allegedly assaulting a police officer outside a nightclub in Paris four months prior.

The Ivory Coast international appealed the ruling and according to a statement from PSG, he was granted a visa to travel for the match at the Emirates, but on November 16 it was revoked by the British interior ministry.

The Ligue 1 giants explained to the authorities that Aurier was appealing the conviction, but the decision to refuse a visa to the footballer has been upheld, meaning that he will not play any part in tomorrow's match in North London.

PSG have said that they "deplore" the decision and believe that it shows a "flagrant lack of respect for the club".

Both PSG and Arsenal have already qualified for the knockout rounds of the Champions League, but they are fighting for first and second place, with both currently on 10 points.
