Report: Alexis Sanchez's Arsenal move gathers pace

Arsenal's prospective acquisition of Alexis Sanchez reportedly gathers pace amid reports that the Chile international is closing in on a switch to the Emirates.

Arsenal's prospective deal to sign Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly nearing its completion as both clubs grow increasingly confident.

The Chile international is strongly expected to be plying his trade in North London next season amid reports that the two outfits have agreed a deal in principle for around £30m.

On Thursday, Sanchez's barber revealed that the 25-year-old was heading to the Emirates Stadium and, according to Sky Sports News, the switch is accelerating - although the player himself is not yet believed to be in London ahead of a medical.

Sanchez struck 19 goals in 34 La Liga appearances for the Spanish giants last term.
