Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp insists that his side can challenge Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich next season.

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has insisted that although Bayern Munich will be favourites for most competitions that both sides enter next season, his team will be capable of challenging them.

Klopp also said that it was good for German football that a vastly successful coach such as Pep Guardiola would decide to manage in the country.

"We have a bow and arrow, and if we aim exactly right, we can strike," he told the Welt am Sonntag. "It feels like Bayern have a bazooka, so the chances of them striking are much higher. But still, that was how Robin Hood succeeded.

"The way [Guardiola] had his team playing in Barcelona was simply fantastic and he's a real role model. Now he's at a new club and the first impression is that everything fits. In the past if you wanted to become a great coach, you went abroad. Now someone like Guardiola has come to Germany."

Dortmund saw Bayern lift the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League last season.
