Mauro Formica ends his Blackburn Rovers career after just 18 months at Ewood Park to leave for Palermo.

Mauro Formica has parted company with Blackburn Rovers to join Serie A strugglers Palermo.

The Argentine has signed for the Italian club for an unspecified fee, bringing to an end his Ewood Park career after just 18 months.

"Palermo announces that it has reached with the Blackburn Rovers Football Club an an agreement for the acquisition of rights to Mauro Abel Formica," reads a statement on Palermo's official website.

"The Argentine footballer, born in 1988, will be available to the Rosanero technical staff from tomorrow and will be presented on Friday."

Formica, who joined Blackburn from Newell's Old Boys in 2011, had not played for the Championship outfit since early December.
