Borussia Dortmund's Andre Schurrle to spend four weeks out with thigh injury

Borussia Dortmund winger Andre Schurrle is ruled out for one month with injury, meaning that he will miss the opening weekend of the Bundesliga season.

Borussia Dortmund will be without Andre Schurrle for the next four weeks after the winger suffered a thigh injury.

There have been no details with regards to when the injury was suffered, but the 26-year-old did play an hour of Dortmund's German Cup first-round win over Rielasingen-Arlen on Saturday.

A statement released by the Bundesliga club read: "He will have to take a break for about four weeks."

The injury blow means that Schurrle will be absent from this weekend's league opener against Wolfsburg, as well as the following clash against Hertha Berlin.

The former Chelsea winger is also expected to miss Germany's World Cup qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Norway at the start of September.
