Liverpool 'seriously consider Fernando Torres loan deal'

Liverpool are seriously considering a loan move for former striker Fernando Torres, according to reports.

Liverpool are seriously considering a January move for Fernando Torres, but could face competition for the AC Milan forward, according to reports.

The Chelsea striker has struggled to score goals since agreeing a two-year loan deal with AC Milan and had been linked with a possible move back to Anfield last week.

The Daily Mail claims that the Merseyside club see Torres as a potential replacement for Mario Balotelli, if the Italian leaves to join Napoli on a temporary basis.

The Reds could look to take Torres on loan with a view to a permanent move, but may face competition from Torres's first club Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host Arsenal.
