Roberto Mancini has reportedly dropped his plans to try to bring John Terry to Galatasaray in January after learning of the defender's reluctance to leave Chelsea.
The Blues captain's Stamford Bridge contract expires at the end of the season and speculation had claimed that Mancini was hoping to tempt Terry to move to Turkey for a fresh challenge.
Gala have signed several high-profile stars in the last 18 months and reportedly wanted to add the 32-year-old to a squad that already includes Wesley Sneijder and former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
However, The Metro claims that ex-Manchester City boss Mancini has already admitted defeat in his pursuit of Terry, who has spent his entire 16-year professional career with the West London outfit, apart from a six-game loan spell at Nottingham Forest when he was a teenager.
The 78-time capped former England international has started all of Chelsea's 11 Premier League games this season and is likely to be offered a one-year contract extension.
