Neville Southall tips Costa Rica's Keylor Navas for Premier League move

Everton legend Neville Southall says that Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas would be well suited to the English game.

Former Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall has declared that Costa Rica stopper Keylor Navas would prove a success if he moved to the Premier League.

The Levante man has been linked with Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool following a string of impressive performances during the World Cup, and the ex-Wales international believes that he would be well suited to the English game.

"I think looking at the Premier League now he could do [well]," Southall told talkSPORT.

"I thought he did really well [at the World Cup]. The only thing I would question was his kicking because he booted it down the middle and gave away possession I don't know how many times last night.

"His shot stopping was good, his [claiming of] crosses were debatable, but I think he would get away with that in the Premier League, his bravery was good because he came out sliding at people's feet and his handling was decent. So yeah, I think he would do all right in the Premier League."

Costa Rica's impressive World Cup run was brought to an end by the Netherlands at the quarter-final stage, with the Dutch triumphing on penalties following a goalless draw.
