Guingamp host Marseille in their opening match of the new Ligue 1 season at the Municipal du Roudourou.

Jocelyn Gourvennec's side finished second in Ligue 2 last year to earn promotion to the French top tier.

L'OM will be looking to try to compete for the title having finished runners-up last term.

The match kicks off at 8pm.

That's all from me, thanks for joining me for this weekend's Ligue 1 action. Until next time, it's goodbye.

That win moves Marseille up to third in the table, while Guingamp slump to 16th after one game.

Three goals in the opening 16 minutes won it for the away side, with a Payet brace coming after Gignac's opener. Yatabare pulled one back in the second half for the hosts after he had earlier had his penalty saved by Mandanda.

So Marseille get off to a winning start as they look to challenge for the Ligue 1 title, while Guingamp will need to improve on their defending if they are to avoid relegation from France's top tier.

FULL TIME: Guingamp 1-3 Marseille

The game has gone really quiet now. Guingamp have accepted defeat.

There will be three minutes of added time to play.

CHANCE! Guingamp have another opportunity that they should do better with as Diallo heads over from a nice Langil cross.

YELLOW CARD Lemaitre is the latest player to go into the book.

Valbuena takes a free kick for Marseille and it's woeful. It flies over everyone is the box and out of play. The quality of this game isn't anything special at the moment.

YELLOW CARD Just to confirm, Jeremy Sordon was given a booking a few moments ago for Guingamp.

MARSEILLE CHANGE Dimitri Payet is replaced having netted a brace on his debut for the club, Morgan Amalfitano is his replacement.

Marseille's defending has been poor tonight. Diawara, N'Koulou and Mandanda are almost trying to shoot themselves in the foot.

YELLOW CARD Andre Ayew goes into the book after a nasty challenge Langil.

Surely Guingamp can't come back? Can they?

Guingamp have the goal they deserve but they get it after some terrible defending from Marseille. N'Koulou messes about with it inside his own box and is dispossessed by Lemaitre, who squares it for Yatabare to tap in.

GOAL! Guingamp 1-3 Marseille (Mustapha Yatabare)

YELLOW CARD Romao goes into the book for Marseille.

CHANCE! Another chance goes begging for Guingamp as Martins Pereira blazes an effort from an acute angle on the left of the box over the bar. He took too long to get his shot away.

GUINGAMP CHANGE Younousse Sankhare makes way for Fatih Atik.

MARSEILLE CHANGE Andre-Pierre Gignac is brought off by Baup as Jordan Ayew makes his way onto the field.

Diawara almost allows Guingamp in at goal then after stuffing up from a Langil cross, but Mandanda is on hand to bail him out.

At the moment, it does seem more likely that Marseille would get a fourth goal rather than the hosts pull one back.

Valbuena again tries his luck with a strike at goal, but he is frustrated by a Guingamp block.

CHANCE! Andre Ayew, who played his part in the Marseille goals in the first half, has shot on goal and gets a lot of power behind it, but Samassa manages to hold onto it.

Despite that penalty miss, Guingamp have looked a lot better since half time. Bringing on Diallo has resulted in a five-man midfield which is seemingly containing the Marseille attack. Payet and Valbuena have both had recent shots blocked by the alert Guingamp defence, which is more than what you could say for their first-half performance.

It just isn't Guingamp's day. Yatabare steps up to take the spot kick and hits it towards the corner, but Mandanda dives to his right and pushes the ball past the post. Still 3-0.

PENALTY SAVED!

What a start to the half this could be from Guingamp. They've been far better since coming out after the break and have been on the attack the hold time. Diawara is the guilty party as he brings down his man.

PENALTY TO GUINGAMP!

GUINGAMP CHANGE A half-time substitution from Gourvennec as he takes off Giresse and brings on Diallo.

KICK OFF! We're back underway.

The two sides are back out and we're ready to go for this second half.

Match statistics:

Guingamp:

Marseille:

Guingamp have had chances, but their defending has been dire. Equally they could be four or five down, but for now, it's 3-0.

So the referee brings an end to a first half that Guingamp will want to forget in a hurry. A dreadful start from them allowed Gignac and Payet to give Marseille a two-goal lead inside five minutes, before the latter added his second 10 minutes later.

FULL TIME: Guingamp 0-3 Marseille

There will be an extra minute to play in this first half.

Guingamp starting to come forward a bit more, but are a bit over eager when it comes to making the final run as Yatabare is flagged offside.

YELLOW CARD N'Koulou goes into the book for Marseille.

CHANCE! It's very nearly 4-0 as Valbuena and Payet combine well, with the former sidefooting the ball wide of the post on the return of a one-two.

Guingamp are starting to challenge a bit more now, and have just been denied a goal back following an offside decision, which was the correct call. Beauvue is chipped in and heads into the back of the net, despite Mandanda getting a hand to the ball. However, Beauvue looks gutted as he sees the linesman's flag raised on the near side.

CHANCE! What a goal this would have been from Valbuena. Rod Fanni pings in a great cross from the right, and Valbuena manages to hold off his marker and unleash a wonderful overhead kick which is tipped over by Samassa. Brilliant and so unlucky from the little midfielder.

Marseille have a great chance for a fourth as Valbuena finds himself unmarked in the box. However, Gignac's cross is bad and goes high over the contingent in the penalty area.

Well well well. Marseille perhaps should have just been awarded a penalty after Gignac was brought down by Kerbrat on the left side of the penalty area. It's a clear foul and Gignac is livid, but I can only imagine that it was his reaction that cost him the decision. He did perhaps make a slight meal of it, but not much.

Guingamp are nearly in from the corner as Mandanda comes to collect the ball but makes a complete hash of it and misses it. Luckily for him, his defenders can bail him out.

Marseille only managed to score 42 Ligue 1 goals last year, they're already on the way to doing better than that.

Gignac nearly finds his way through again as Samassa stands still in front of him, but the defender is there to clear away the danger.

YELLOW CARD Payet picks up a booking to go alongside his brace in this opening 20 minutes.

That third goal actually came after a decent spell of play for Guingamp, and given their chances it could have been 2-2. However, the game already looks as if it is done and dusted, and with the way that the home side are defending, it could get embarrassing.

This is unreal. Again, it's terrible defending from Guingamp and Marseille forced the ball into the back of the net at the third time of asking. Mendy put in a cross from the left which the hosts failed to deal with, before Valbuena drilled a shot at Samassa, but again he could only push to ball to Payet who was in the right place at the right time to score his second and Marseille's third.

GOAL! Guingamp 0-3 Marseille (Dimitri Payet)

Needless to say, it's been a very poor start from Guingamp who desperately need to wake up.

Guingamp has a free kick in a good position on the right, but the ball is swung in far too close to Mandanda, who easily collects the ball.

Gignac is currently off the field which has interrupted play for a few moments. After a bit of treatment the big man is able to rejoin the action.

CHANCE! Guingamp finally managed to get a foot in the match and they mount an attack of their own. The ball falls to Yatabare, but his finish is dreadfully off target.

What a blistering start from Marseille, and this game could be over inside six minutes. Andre Ayew is again the provider but it is poor defending from Guingamp. Ayew's cross is watched by no less than five of the home side's defenders as Payet comes in to double Marseille's lead on his debut.

GOAL! Guingamp 0-2 Marseille (Dimitri Payet)

That didn't take long! The ball is played out to Andre Ayew on the left and he unleashes a decent enough shot which is stopped by Samassa, but he can only parry the ball into the path of Gignac who is on hand to tap in the opener.

GOAL! Guingamp 0-1 Marseille (Andre-Pierre Gignac)

KICK OFF! We're underway at Stade du Roudourou.

Guingamp are wearing their maroon shirts with black short and maroon socks, while Marseille are sporting their all white kit.

The two sides have just entered the field the Stade du Roudourou.

MARSEILLE BENCH: Samba, Abdallah, Mendes, Amalfitano, Cheyrou, Kadir, Ayew

GUINGAMP BENCH: Assembe, Leveque, Sankoh, Diallo, Alioui, Atik, Douniama

Time for the substitutes news...

They may be the underdogs for the match, but Guingamp are currently on a 17-match unbeaten streak at the 18,000-capacity home. Tough first trip for Marseille.

Imbula his making his debut for his new club against his old club, after the 20-year-old helped guide Guingamp return to the top flight for the first time since 2004.

Fellow young stars Benjamin Mendy and Giannelli Imbula also start at left-back and defensive midfield respectively.

Elie Baup picks a strong team for his side's opening match of the season which includes new £20m signing Dimitri Payet from Lille. He features out on the right flank and is one of the most highly-regarded young talents in French football.

MARSEILLE XI: Mandanda, Fanni, Diawara, N'Koulou, Mendy, Romao, Imbula Wanga, Payet, Valbuena, Ayew, Gignac

And now for Marseille...

So Jocelyn Gourvennec, who is against his former club tonight, fields much of the same side who got Guingamp into the French top tier. Keep an eye out for rapid forward Thibault Giresse and creative midfielder Lionel Mathis.

GUINGAMP XI: Samassa, Lemaitre, Pereira, Sorbon, Beauvue, Kerbrat, Langil, Mathis, Sankhare, Giresse, Yatabare

Right, let's bring you some team news.

While many would point to an away win for this match, these two sides did meet last season and Marseille were only able to come away with a 2-1 win after extra time in the cup.

This match pits together two sides who have completely different aspirations for the season. Guingamp, having won promotion from Ligue 2 last year, will be hoping to try to survive in the French top tier, whereas Marseille will be targeting finishing the campaign as champions.

Hello and welcome to part two of Sports Mole's French double bill as Guingamp host Marseille in the final Ligue 1 match of the weekend.
