Claudio Ranieri describes Leicester links to Francesco Totti as "speculation"

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri plays down talk of signing Roma's Francesco Totti this summer.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has distanced himself from rumours that his club are interested in signing Roma forward Francesco Totti this summer.

The 39-year-old, who has been part of the Roma setup for the last 27 years, will come to the end of his current contract when the season finishes.

Totti has featured just twice in Serie A this season, suggesting that he could join a Leicester side who are on the verge of winning the Premier League title.

"Could Totti come to Leicester? It's just speculation," Goal.com quotes Ranieri as saying. "Totti is Roma and Roma are Totti. And Totti is, and will, continue to be very useful to Roma."

Leicester, who will play Champions League football for the first time next season, are five points away from winning the league.
