Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reveals that Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana are closing in on return from injuries.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that injured pair Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana are "looking good" as they close in on a return to action.

Mane has been out since the start of the month after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty, while Lallana has missed the entire season to date with a thigh problem.

Speaking to reporters today, Klopp revealed that both will be back in action soon but will not be fit enough for the Champions League clash with Maribor tomorrow night or the Premier League trip to West Ham United this weekend.

"Yes, it looks good – both are looking good," he said. "Sadio this morning had kind of a clearing session before he comes back to training. We have to see how he will react. The session was good, I heard.

"Of course, he will not be in the squad, tomorrow he has more of a down day when he is recovering from today and then Thursday he should be in training, whatever that means. We will have to see then.

"Adam will be part of team training during the international break and then we need to see. But that means both of them are obviously on a good way but their way is not good enough to involve them tomorrow or at the weekend against West Ham."

Klopp has also revealed that Philippe Coutinho is unlikely to feature in the game against Maribor as he continues to recover from an adductor issue.
