Joao Teixeira eyes Liverpool future

On-loan Brighton attacker Joao Teixeira reveals that it remains his "dream" to work his way into the first team at parent club Liverpool.

Liverpool loanee Joao Teixeira has expressed his desire to break into the club's first team next season.

The Portuguese attacker has made just one substitute appearance for the Merseyside outfit so far and has spent the last season on loan with Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, the 22-year-old still sees his long-term future at Anfield and wants to fulfil his "dream" of becoming a regular for the Reds.

"I need to finish the season here and then I'll go to Liverpool on May 2. I will be there for two more weeks and train so I can keep fit for the Euros," Teixeira told The Guardian.

"I will also have time to speak to the manager about my future. I came to Brighton to become more mature and get more experience, and hopefully next year I will be playing for Liverpool. That is my dream."

Teixeira's Brighton are currently 19th in the Championship table, nine points clear of the relegation zone with five games remaining.
