Liverpool have reportedly been told by Cagliari Calcio that they will have to pay £45m to secure the services of midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The Reds are allegedly interested in bringing the Italy Under-21 international to Anfield, with Calciomercato now reporting that the Serie A side have set their asking price.

Barella is also believed to be on the radar of champions Juventus, as Massimiliano Allegri's team look to add midfield options to their ranks.

Barella developed in Cagliari's youth setup, making his Serie A debut in 2015 before being sent out on loan to Serie B outfit Como in 2016.

The midfielder has netted three goals so far this term since moving back to his parent club.
