Remi Garde "deeply" disappointed by Lyon slump

Remi Garde says that Lyon deserved to beat Marseille having let a two-goal lead slip on Sunday.

Remi Garde believes that Lyon did not get what they deserved following their draw with Marseille on Sunday.

Les Gones let a two-goal lead slip at the Stade de Gerland to draw 2-2 with Les Phoceens, having moved into a commanding position thanks to strikes from Alexandre Lacazette and Bafetimbi Gomis in the first half.

"I have regrets, especially from the first half," Garde told reporters. "Had we held our two-goal lead into the interval, it would have been better. But we had spells where we were on top and could have extended our lead.

"OM got the breaks with both of their goals. For us, it is a case of history repeating itself. We were unable to open up a big enough lead to make sure of the win. It is deeply disappointing. The players did not get the reward they deserved for their effort. We played very well in spells.

"It is frustrating to play good football and create chances but be so fragile and concede two goals at home. It is asking too much if we always have to score three to win a game. These are reasons to be frustrated, but not worried. What are we lacking? I'll keep that to myself."

Lyon are currently 10th in the Ligue 1 table.
