Pablo Zabaleta signs new Manchester City deal

Manchester City full-back Pablo Zabaleta signs a contract extension that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2017.

Pablo Zabaleta has put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at Manchester City until at least 2017.

The Argentine right-back played as Manuel Pellegrini's men began their quest to regain the Premier League title with a convincing 4-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday.

He said: "Signing a contract extension with the club makes me feel very happy. I feel great here, I like the Premier League, and I think Manchester City are one of the clubs looking for success in the future.

"It is a club that is very well-organised and when you see that everything works well you want to be here. I think we have got a great squad, fantastic players and hopefully we can win something this year."

Zabaleta, who joined the Citizens from Espanyol for a fee of £6.5m in 2008, was named the club's player of the year last season.
