Manchester United striker Robin van Persie believes that there is still room for him to improve this season.

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has claimed that he has yet to perform at his best this season.

The £24m summer signing from Arsenal is United's top scorer this season with 13 goals in 19 matches.

Despite the instant impact that he has made at Old Trafford, Van Persie believes that there are areas in his game that he can still improve.

"When you are wanted by everyone it gives you wings," the Dutchman told MUTV. "I am happy here and everyone looks very happy to have me here.

"But I am not satisfied. If you look at the stats, 13 goals in 19 games, it is okay, but I want better and more. I want more goals, more assists. I want to go for everything that it is possible this year."

Van Persie is expected to start for United in Sunday's Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.
