Lyon forward Moussa Dembele rules out a January switch to English giants Manchester United.

Lyon forward Moussa Dembele has insisted that he will remain with his current club until at least the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Manchester United are believed to have identified the Frenchman as a potential January signing having lost Marcus Rashford for the next couple of months with a back injury.

The Red Devils were thought to be lining up a £43m bid, but the 23-year-old has ruled out a switch to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side at this stage of the season.

"I am a Lyon player and I will remain so until the end of the season," Dembele told reporters. "I do not think that there will be a departure this winter. Lots of things are being said. It is up to me to ignore that and remain concentrated on the pitch."

The striker has been in impressive form at club level during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 15 times in 29 appearances in all competitions, including 11 in 19 Ligue 1 outings.

United, though, are thought to have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon attacker Bruno Fernandes, with a deal potentially being agreed between the two clubs on Wednesday.
