Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul believes that the club can cope without the suspended Fabricio Coloccini.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has insisted that the club's 'spirit and determination' will help them during Fabricio Coloccini's absence.

The Magpies captain was sent off for a studs-up challenge on Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as the two clubs drew 1-1 on Sunday, but Krul believes that his side will still be able to pick up points in the Premier League.

Krul said: "Fabricio is one of our star players, so it is a shame we will be without him.

"It's happened, though, and we have to handle it, just like we've handled it all year. We'll be all right.

"The spirit is definitely back, a real determination within the squad that was there last season as well."

Coloccini will miss Newcastle's matches against West Ham United, Swansea City and Southampton.
