Andros Townsend: Tottenham Hotspur "delighted" for Roberto Soldado

Andros Townsend hopes that Roberto Soldado's hat-trick for Tottenham Hotspur this evening is the start of a goal blitz.

Andros Townsend has said that the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room is "delighted" for Roberto Soldado following his hat-trick against Anzhi Makhachkala.

The Spaniard's goals - two being from open play - helped the North Londoners to finish the group stages with six wins out of six.

"We made changes tonight and we won 4-1, so it bodes well for the busy Christmas period," Townsend told ITV Sport.

"Everyone is delighted for Roberto Soldado, he's not scored as many goals as he would like so hopefully he can go on and show everyone what a quality striker he is."

Soldado now has nine goals in all competitions this season.
