Andre Villas-Boas: 'Romelu Lukaku could have avoided Hugo Lloris'

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas believes that Everton's Romelu Lukaku could have avoided his collision with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has claimed that Everton's Romelu Lukaku could have avoided his collision with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris on Sunday.

Lloris was briefly knocked unconscious when he was accidentally struck in the head by Lukaku's knee during Spurs' 0-0 draw at Goodison Park in the Premier League.

However, Villas-Boas believes that the striker could have jumped over the shot-stopper when the pair were challenging for the ball.

"I don't want to question Lukaku because he is a good young player, but I think he could have jumped over Hugo," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

Tottenham were heavily criticised after the match for allowing Lloris to continue playing following the incident.
