Mauricio Pochettino challenges Tottenham Hotspur to win at Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino calls on his team to improve on their disappointing record at Old Trafford when they travel to Manchester United on Monday.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has challenged his team to improve on their disappointing record at Old Trafford when they travel to Manchester United in the Premier League on Monday night.

Pochettino has lost on each of his visits to Old Trafford as Spurs boss, while the capital outfit have suffered more defeats at the home of the 20-time English champions than any other side in Premier League history.

United have won each of their last four home league fixtures with Tottenham, meanwhile, but Pochettino has urged his team to pick up a positive result on Monday night.

"It is so important for us because after four years of struggling to compete there - more than compete, to get a good, positive result - it is important to go there on Monday and try to win the game and show us that we can beat Manchester there," Pochettino told Sky Sports News.

"It will be tough, of course, because Manchester are a great team with unbelievable players and one of the best managers in the world. But is a massive challenge and I said at the beginning of the season that this will be the toughest season after starting my managerial career nine, 10 years ago.

"And I feel it will be a massive challenge as we will face a team that is very good and have unbelievable players and of course, to play at Old Trafford is never easy."

Tottenham have started their 2018-19 Premier League campaign with back-to-back wins over Newcastle United and Fulham.
