Sandro, Vlad Chiriches miss pre-season tour of US

Sandro and Vlad Chiriches are both forced to abandon Tottenham Hotspur's pre-season tour to the US.

Sandro and Vlad Chiriches have both been left behind as Tottenham Hotspur continue their pre-season preparations in the US.

Spurs will play three friendlies on the tour ahead of the new Premier League season, but Sandro will remain in London to recover from a virus, while Chiriches is currently battling a back injury.

"Romania defender Vlad has been complaining of stiffness in his lower back, and is continuing to be assessed to determine the extent of the problem, while Sandro is recovering from a virus, and has been kept behind on medical advice to avoid the risk of spreading the infection," a statement on the club's website revealed.

Spurs begin their Premier League campaign against West Ham United on August 16.
