Tottenham Hotspur reportedly remain confident about signing Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, despite interest from Everton.

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly expect to edge out Everton in the race to sign Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

With just a year remaining on his contract, the Denmark international will be allowed to leave St Mary's for the right price during the next transfer window.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that the Saints had accepted a £25m bid from Everton, seemingly putting the Toffees as favourites to sign the 24-year-old.

However, according to The Guardian, Spurs are not concerned about the recent developments involving one of their priority targets.

Aware that Hojbjerg would prefer a switch to North London, Spurs are allegedly prepared to bide their time in an effort to lower Southampton's valuation.

In the current financial climate, Southampton are unlikely to risk losing one of their key men on a free transfer in 2021.
