Paolo Di Canio boosted by returns of John O'Shea and Emanuele Giaccherini

Paolo Di Canio says that John O'Shea and Emanuele Giaccherini will return to the Sunderland side for this weekend's vital Premier League match against West Brom.

Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio has revealed that John O'Shea and Emanuele Giaccherini will return to the side for this weekend's Premier League trip to West Bromwich Albion.

Captain O'Shea returns from a one-match ban he received for a red card against Crystal Palace, while Giaccherini returns from the injury that kept him out of Saturday's home defeat to Arsenal.

"They are ready to be selected. We know Giaccherini is crucial, and O'Shea, who is our captain, is a crucial player," he told the club's official website.

"There is no doubt that they will be in the game."

Sunderland are yet to win a game in the Premier League this season and are currently bottom of the table with a single point.
