Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League One action.

Tranmere Rovers were able to regain top spot from Sheffield United, overcoming Scunthorpe United 1-0 thanks to a goal from youngster Cole Stockton this afternoon.

The Blades, meanwhile, surprisingly lost 3-2 at home to bottom club Hartlepool United.

Fellow promotion candidates Doncaster Rovers moved level on points with Sheffield United after beating Preston North End 3-0, courtesy of first-half goals from David Syers and David Cotterill, and a Billy Paynter penalty.

Brentford dropped a place to fourth after being held to a 0-0 draw by Shrewsbury Town, while Swindon Town's game at Colchester United was postponed.

Stevenage against Notts County was also called off. Bournemouth's match against Crawley Town did go ahead, with the home side winning 3-0 to pull away from Crawley and into the playoff places.

Portsmouth remain in the bottom four after losing 2-1 at home to Yeovil Town, as do Bury, who were beaten by the same score at Carlisle United thanks to Matt Robson and Lee Miller goals inside ten minutes.

There were home losses for MK Dons and Oldham Athletic. Coventry City won 3-2 in Milton Keynes to continue their good run of form, while Oldham were beaten 2-1 by Crewe Alexandra.

Elsewhere Leyton Orient beat Walsall 2-1 to move up a place into 14th.
