Monday morning's Championship transfer talk news roundup:

Manchester United 'told to pay £50m for Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks'

Manchester United have reportedly been told that it will take a bid of £50m to prise David Brooks away from Bournemouth this summer.

The Cherries have been forced to cash in on a number of their key players following their relegation from the Premier League last season, with Nathan Ake and Callum Wilson among those to have already left the club.

Speculation also continues to surround Joshua King and Brooks, both of whom have been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Brooks has been earmarked as a possible alternative to Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish, but the Daily Star reports that Bournemouth have demanded £50m for the 23-year-old.

That sum would surpass the fee they paid to sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax earlier this summer, while they are also expected to face competition for his signature from Leicester City.

Leicester are thought to be leading the race as things stand, with United still regarding Sancho as their top target this summer.

Brooks was limited to only nine appearances last season after missing a large chunk of the campaign through injury.

Arsenal 'open talks for Iceland goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson'

Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal.

With Emiliano Martinez on the brink of joining Aston Villa in a £16m deal, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is in the market for a replacement.

Throughout last week, the Premier League giants were linked with an approach for David Raya, who may be allowed to leave Brentford for the right price.

However, the Daily Mail claims that Arsenal have made contact with Dijon regarding the availability of Iceland international Runarsson.

The 25-year-old, who has made 36 appearances in Ligue 1 since 2018, was an unused substitute for his nation's recent fixtures against England and Belgium.

Runarsson has less than two years left on his contract, a factor which could leave Arsenal regarding him as a cheaper alternative to Raya.
