Malky Mackay has revealed that Leon Clarke has been taken to hospital with a suspected neck injury following Wigan Athletic's defeat to Charlton Athletic this evening.
The striker was injured half an hour into the match and had to be stretchered off at the DW Stadium, resulting in 10 minutes of stoppage time being played in the first half of the 3-0 defeat.
After the match, the manager said through the club's Twitter account: "Leon Clarke has suffered a neck/shoulder injury and has been taken to hospital to be assessed."
Mackay also confirmed that William Kvist picked up a hamstring injury in the first half, and was taken off as a precaution.
