Wolverhampton Wanderers officially announce the appointment of new manager Stale Solbakken.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that Stale Solbakken will become the club's new manager in July.

Reports emerged yesterday claiming that the former Cologne boss was close to agreeing a move to the recently-relegated club.

Club chief executive Jez Moxey told the club's official website: "Following talks with Stale Solbakken I am happy to confirm that he has agreed to become our new manager. He will be formally introduced to the media on Monday."

Solbakken added: "I am delighted to be taking up the important challenge to manage Wolves. It's an exciting opportunity to manage a great club and I can't wait to get started."

Current boss Terry Connor will finish the season with the Midlands club this weekend and will keep a coaching role within the setup when the former Denmark international takes charge.
