Stan Kroenke wants Arsene Wenger to stay as Arsenal manager

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke insists that manager Arsene Wenger is the right man to take the club forward in the future.

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has insisted that manager Arsene Wenger is part of the club's long-term future.

There have been suggestions that the Frenchman's time at the North London outfit could be coming to an end when he claimed that he will wait until the end of the season to decide whether or not to sign a new contract.

Despite the apparent uncertainty, the club's majority shareholder has stated that the hierarchy of the club and Wenger himself are determined to bring future success to the Gunners.

"There's no-one I feel more strongly about and I think he is doing a great job," Kroenke told The Telegraph. "We have been very supportive, we have never wavered, we are proud of him, proud of the club, the way the club is run and how it holds itself out to the world."

When asked if Wenger was part of the club's long-term plans, Kroenke said: "That's exactly right. Arsene knows how we feel, what our philosophy is, what we want to do and I feel like we are totally aligned. I think he wants to do it the exact same way as we do."

Wenger, who comes to the end of his contract next summer, has been in charge of the Premier League outfit for 17 years.
