Peter Crouch apologised to Nacho Monreal for elbowing him in face

Stoke City striker Peter Crouch reveals that he apologised to Arsenal's Nacho Monreal after 'accidentally' elbowing him in the face at the Emirates.

Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has apologised to Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal for elbowing him in the face during Sunday's Premier League encounter.

Monreal suffered a cut to his forehead during the Gunners' 3-0 win at the Emirates, but Crouch has insisted that his actions weren't malicious.

"It was totally accidental and I have apologised to him," the Daily Star quotes Crouch as saying.

"I did catch him with my arm, but I did not mean it at all. I have said sorry to him during the game and also afterwards as well."

Meanwhile, Crouch has reiterated his desire to stay at the Britannia and hopes that he is offered a new deal when his existing one expires in the summer.
