Team News: No Ross Barkley for Everton

Ross Barkley is left out of the Everton side to face Arsenal in one of two changes for the Toffees, while the Gunners bring in Nacho Monreal for Kieran Gibbs.

Ross Barkley has been left out of the Everton side for this afternoon's crucial Premier League clash with fellow Champions League contenders Arsenal.

Barkley is one of two changes to the Everton team that beat Fulham 3-1 in their last outing, with Gerard Deulofeu also making way and Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas coming in.

Arsenal, meanwhile, make just the one change to the side that drew with Manchester City last weekend, with Nacho Monreal replacing Kieran Gibbs at left-back.

Aaron Ramsey returns to the bench for the Gunners as they look to open up a seven-point gap between themselves and fifth-placed Everton.

Everton: Howard; Baines, Distin, Stones, Coleman; McCarthy, Barry, Osman, Naismith, Mirallas; Lukaku
Subs: Robles, Hibbert, McGeady, Deulofeu, Barkley, Garbutt, Alcaraz

Arsenal: Szczesny; Monreal, Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Sagna; Flamini, Arteta; Rosicky, Podolski, Cazorla; Giroud
Subs: Viviano, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, Sanogo, Jenkinson, Kallstrom, Bellerin
