Scottish Premiership roundup: Celtic go top, Hearts finally falter

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's action from the Scottish Premiership.

The Scottish Premiership table is a familiar sight this evening, with Celtic reaching the summit for the first time this season.

The Bhoys came from behind to defeat St Johnstone at Celtic Park. An early Dedryck Boyata own goal was cancelled out by Leigh Griffiths after 17 minutes.

Tomas Rogic scored his first goal since coming back from a long-term injury to give Celtic a half-time lead and Charlie Mulgrew netted a close-range header in the second half to secure the victory.

Hearts lost their 100% record after a topsy-turvy 3-2 loss to Hamilton Academical. Gramoz Kurtaj gave Accies the lead just before the break but Billy King and Callum Paterson struck to give Hearts a 2-1 lead.

Paterson was shown a straight red card just minutes later, and Accies took advantage with goals from Ali Crawford and Jesus Garcia Tena.

Aberdeen are now the only team in the division to have won all their matches with Adam Rooney and Kenny McLean goals giving them victory over Partick Thistle. They have a game in hand over Celtic and could go top with a win.

Elsewhere, Kilmarnock's horror season continued with defeat to Motherwell. Louis Moult scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot to condemn Killie to just two points from six matches.

Kane Hemmings came to the rescue for Dundee, grabbing a stoppage-time equaliser to cancel out David Raven's opener for Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Ross County's good form continued with a 2-1 victory against Dundee United. Liam Boyce scored his fifth goal of the season before Andrew Davies doubled their lead. Sean Dillon grabbed a consolation on the hour mark but the Staggies held on to the three points.

Results in full: Celtic 3-1 St Johnstone (2-1), Dundee 1-1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle (0-0), Hamilton Academical 3-2 Hearts (1-0), Motherwell 1-0 Kilmarnock (1-0), Partick Thistle 0-2 Aberdeen (0-0), Ross County 2-1 Dundee United (2-0)
