Chelsea could move for Porto's Alex Telles if they fail to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester City, according to a report.

Chelsea will reportedly attempt to sign Porto's Alex Telles should they be unable to complete a deal for Leicester City's Ben Chilwell during this summer's transfer window.

Chilwell is believed to be the London club's leading target at left-back as Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri continue to be linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

According to Goal.com, though, negotiations with the Foxes are likely to prove difficult, meaning that Chelsea have identified an alternative to the England international.

Indeed, the report claims that Telles is on the Premier League club's shortlist as he could be available for around £40m during this summer's transfer window.

The 27-year-old, who will only have 12 months left on his existing deal at the end of the season, has contributed 10 goals and nine assists in 40 appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.

Frank Lampard's side will be looking to strengthen their grip on fourth spot in the Premier League table when they travel to Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
