Liverpool reportedly fear that Jordan Henderson will be absent until after the start of next season with a knee injury.

Liverpool are reportedly pessimistic over having Jordan Henderson fit for the start of next season.

During Wednesday's victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, Henderson was substituted after suffering a knee problem.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has already acknowledged that the club captain is unlikely to play any part of the club's remaining four fixtures in the top flight.

According to The Mirror, the Merseyside giants are fearful that the England international will also not be ready to return to action for the beginning of the next campaign.

The report suggests that Liverpool expect scans to show that the 30-year-old has sustained significant knee ligament damange.

Henderson has made a total of 32 starts and four substitute outings in all competitions this season.
