Ray Wilkins: 'Manchester United boss David Moyes needs six new players'

Ray Wilkins believes that Manchester United manager David Moyes needs five or six new players in order to get the club back to winning ways.

Former Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins believes that manager David Moyes needs to bring in five or six new faces in order to get the Red Devils back on track.

The North-West outfit have slumped to 13 points behind Arsenal in the Premier League table following their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

"This is a massive transitional period for Manchester United," Wilkins told talkSPORT. "Unfortunately, David needs five or six players.

"It's going to take two or three windows to put right what has gone slightly wrong at Manchester United.

"It is a great club, it always will be a great club, but David needs time and assistance. Disgruntled fans aren't really going to help."

Moyes managed to secure just one signing in the summer - midfielder Marouane Fellaini from Everton.
