Laurent Blanc: 'We forgot the fundamentals in defeat to Bastia'

PSG manager Laurent Blanc admits that his team "forgot the fundamentals" as they fell to a shock 4-2 defeat at the hands of Bastia in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has said that his side "forgot the fundamentals" as they found themselves on the end of a shock defeat to Bastia.

The current champions fell to a 4-2 Ligue 1 defeat at the Stade Armand Cesari, despite having found themselves two goals ahead within 20 minutes.

"We forgot the fundamentals, like not taking your foot of the gas. In terms of our football, in terms of our attitude towards our opponent," said Blanc on the club's official website.

"I think certain players took it easy. I think it showed a lack of respect to this Bastia side after the opening 35 minutes, and they made us pay. It's never easy winning in Bastia, it's not easy to win in Guingamp, you have to respect these sides."

PSG currently hold fourth position in the Ligue 1 table, three points behind league leaders Marseille.
