Report: Atletico Madrid to appeal Diego Costa yellow

A report claims that Atletico Madrid will launch an appeal to the RFEF's Competitions Committee in an attempt to see Diego Costa's booking against Real Madrid overturned.

Atletico Madrid will reportedly lodge an appeal to the RFEF's Competitions Committee in an attempt to have Diego Costa's booking against Real Madrid overturned.

The Brazilian-born Spanish international was booked for simulation in the second period of the 2-2 draw at the Vicente Calderon after an altercation with Alvaro Arbeloa.

However, replays appeared to suggest that the forward was indeed caught by the Real Madrid right-back before falling to the ground just outside of the box.

According to Marca, Atletico are preparing to appeal the booking, which was Costa's fifth of the season and would, as it stands, rule him out of Saturday's clash with Celta Vigo.

Arda Turan and Diego Godin will miss the clash with Celta through suspension.
