Sunderland defender Titus Bramble bemoans his side's defeat in the Peace Cup today as the North East side begin their pre-season schedule.

Sunderland defender Titus Bramble has promised Black Cats supporters that the team will improve following their Peace Cup defeat.

Martin O'Neill's side stumbled to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma in their opening match of pre-season.

Bramble wrote on Twitter: "Not a great result tonight for the lads. It was our first pre season game and it showed.

"I know its the peace cup and it would have been nice to win it but pre season isn't really about results its to make sure were ready for aug 18th. Good to see some red and white shirts in the crowd. A shame we didn't give you more to cheer about."

Sunderland are due to continue their preparations for the new season with a friendly against Hartlepool United at Victoria Park on July 27.
