Luis Suarez upbeat over recovery from knee injury

Uruguay striker Luis Suarez is upbeat about his chances of featuring in this summer's World Cup as he continues his recovery from minor knee surgery.

Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has revealed that he is feeling "very good" about his chances of participating in this summer's World Cup.

The 27-year-old is currently embroiled in a race to be fit in time for his side's opening match against Costa Rica on June 14, having undergone minor knee surgery last month.

It is understood that Uruguay's match against England on June 19 is a more realistic return date for Suarez to target, but the Liverpool man was upbeat about his recovery.

"Hello to everyone, I wanted to tell you that my knee is getting better," Suarez said in a video for 888poker.

"I feel very good, I have to go day by day, but everything is on the right way. I wanted to thank you all for the support I received during this week and now my mind is focused on the World Cup."

Suarez is Uruguay's highest-ever goalscorer, having found the net 38 times in his 77 international outings.
