Wigan Athletic: 'Leon Clarke back at Wolverhampton Wanderers for shoulder scan'

Leon Clarke returns to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers from Wigan Athletic to have a second scan on a shoulder injury.

Wigan Athletic manager Malky Mackay has revealed that Leon Clarke has returned to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers to have a scan on a shoulder injury.

The on-loan striker had to be taken to hospital after suffering the injury during Friday night's 3-0 defeat at home to Charlton Athletic.

"He's already had one scan and there's going to be a second today to determine the extent of the injury," Mackay told the Latics' website this afternoon.

"Leon's gone to Wolves to have the second scan, we'll discuss with them whether it's short term or long term."

Clarke is on loan at Wigan from Wolves until the end of the season.
