David Moyes plays down Wayne Rooney injury fears

David Moyes says that Wayne Rooney could be available for Manchester United against West Ham United on Saturday.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has said that Wayne Rooney could be available for his side's Premier League clash against West Ham United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The England international striker missed the Red Devils' victory over Stoke City in the League Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday with a groin injury.

There have been suggestions that Rooney could be sidelined for the upcoming busy festive period, but Moyes has played down those reports.

"He has got a chance, yes," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying, when asked if the 28-year-old could play against the Hammers.

United are currently eighth in the league table.
