Ryan Giggs not giving up on Europa League qualification

Manchester United caretaker manager Ryan Giggs insists that his side are not giving up on the Europa League League and will give everything to qualify in the final game.

Manchester United caretaker manager Ryan Giggs has refused to give up on Europa League qualification, despite Tottenham Hotspur being favourites for a sixth-place finish.

United are three points behind Spurs heading into the final game of the season and will need a win over Southampton, along with a defeat for Tim Sherwood's men, to land a Europa League place on goal difference.

A large section of United's fans would arguably want to avoid an arduous Europa League, though Giggs does not share that view and wants to give everything in a bid to qualify.

"I maintain my stance, we want to be in Europe," Giggs told reporters.

"We can only qualify for the Europa League and we will carry on trying to do that.

"It would have been in our hands now if we had beaten Sunderland last week because Tottenham lost to West Ham. That was disappointing for us."

The clash against Southampton is expected to be Giggs' final game as caretaker manager.
